Who Am I?
My Name is Allen Dekeyser- but most people just call me AL. In 2022, I survived being shot in the face. I’ve battled PTSD, injustice, and pain — but through it all, I never lost my heart. My strength came from my wife Marqueta… and my dog Harley. I’ve walked through fire and I’m still standing. That’s why I write. That’s why I share. That’s why this site exists.
Dekeyser Publishing isn’t just a company. It’s a mission. For survivors. For dog lovers. For anyone who needs to know that they’re not alone. I’m a survivor, a storyteller, a husband, and a man who walks this road with my loyal service dog, Harley, by my side. I’ve faced trauma, violence, and heartbreak that nearly took me out—but I’m still here. Still fighting. Still writing. Still loving. My journey isn’t perfect. I’ve been shot, broken, and left in the dark. But through faith, love, and the unshakable bond with my family—my wife Marqueta and our dogs Harley, Fendi, and Pebbles—I’ve found purpose again. I created Dekeyser Publishing to share real stories. Stories of survival, healing, hope, and unconditional love. Whether it’s through books, videos, or speaking, I want people to know: you’re not alone. Pain doesn’t get the last word. I believe in honesty, loyalty, Christ, and peace. I believe dogs can save lives. And I believe the world needs more truth—raw, unfiltered, and full of heart.
