Let’s Talk About Family

Let’s talk about “family.”

The people who are supposed to have your back…
but some only show up when they need something.

I gave time.
I gave energy.
I gave trust.

And when it mattered?
There was nothing there.

That’s not love.
That’s not loyalty.
That’s taking advantage.

Being family doesn’t give you unlimited access to me.
It doesn’t mean I have to tolerate being disrespected or used.

And the moment I stop overextending myself—
suddenly I’m the problem?

No.

The problem is expecting someone to keep giving
while you keep taking.

So let me be clear:

I’m done.

Not out of anger—
out of self-respect.

You don’t get to use “family” as a free pass anymore.
I know what I gave.
And I know what I deserve.
